5 Days Tanzania Classic Safari | Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Tarangire Package

Tour Overview

This is the safari Tanzania was made for. The 5 Days Tanzania Classic Safari covers all four of the Northern Circuit’s landmark destinations. It moves at a pace that lets you settle into each environment. And it delivers a Big Five experience that leaves no wildlife wish unfulfilled.

Starting in Tarangire among famous elephant herds and baobab landscapes, the route crosses the highland passes and drops into the Serengeti. Two days in Africa’s greatest wildlife theatre follow , lion prides, cheetahs, and the seasonal spectacle of the Great Migration create moments of pure, exhilarating wonder. From the Serengeti, you climb to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for the extraordinary crater experience. Then on the final day, you return to Arusha via Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo-fringed shores.

It gives you enough time to decompress, find your rhythm in the bush, and experience each park properly rather than in a rush. Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Begin your Tanzania adventure in Tarangire, a park that often surprises first-timers with its extraordinary elephant numbers. During the dry season, hundreds of elephants congregate along the Tarangire River in one of the most spectacular gatherings in Africa. Baobab trees frame every scene, and the light here , especially in the late afternoon , is a photographer’s dream. Overnight near the park.

Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, climbing into cool forests and Maasai territory before dropping down into the Serengeti. Your first glimpse of the endless plains is one of those genuinely life-changing moments. An afternoon game drive sets the tone for the days ahead, with lions, elephant, buffalo, and countless antelope species welcoming you to the world’s most famous national park.

Day 3: Full Day Serengeti Safari
A full, gloriously uninterrupted day in the Serengeti. Morning drives, evening drives, and a midday break at camp (or an optional game drive right through the day). Your guide knows where to look for the Big Five and uses their expertise to put you at the right place at the right time. Moments like a leopard descending from a tree, a cheetah sprinting across the plains, or a lion pride working together on a hunt are what this day is made for.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you climb the crater rim road, the highland ecosystem envelops you , montane forest, ancient trees draped in lichen, and the vast blue bowl of the crater below. Overnight in a lodge with panoramic crater views.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara – Arusha
Descend into the crater for a half-day game drive that rarely disappoints , black rhino, lion, elephant, hippo, and flamingo are all regular sightings. After lunch, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a late afternoon visit to see tree-climbing lions (a rare behaviour unique to this park), enormous flocks of flamingos on the alkaline lake, and lush forest elephants. Return to Arusha in the evening.
